The Regionalized Vaccine Manufacturing (RVM) Insights Hub is a trusted, single source of insights on regionalized vaccine manufacturing across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Structured around the three thematic areas and eight pillars of the RVMC Framework, it brings fragmented data into a single accessible view - highlighting progress, gaps, and opportunities for action.

By providing actionable evidence and tracking developments over time based on a shared baseline, the RVM Insights Hub helps partners focus resources where they are needed most and steer coordinated action toward sustainable regionalized vaccine manufacturing.

Overall Assessment

Momentum is building across regions, but the path to sustainable regionalized vaccine manufacturing is still in its early stages. Regional and national efforts have laid the foundations for growth, but the next phase will depend on how well these efforts connect within and across regions.

Key priorities for action include:

  • Finance and Demand: Turn demand for regionally produced vaccines into reliable markets through clear policy and funding commitments, supported by tools like pooled procurement.
  • Regulation and Governance: Strengthen and align regulatory systems to reduce duplication, speed up approvals, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Technology and Supply: Invest in the right manufacturing technologies for regional needs, backed by clinical development capacity and resilient supply chains.

Help strengthen the evidence base

Good decisions rely on strong data. While progress is being made, the current picture of regionalized vaccine manufacturing is still incomplete.

Improving quality, consistency, and availability of data across regions will sharpen insights, support better decisions, and help ensure investments deliver real impact. Expanding access to market and supply data, alongside stronger information systems, will be key to this effort.

We will carry out a full data refresh next year to track progress and deepen our understanding, but we can't do this alone.
